I want to talk about what is a Young 1%ER. The true philosophy behind a young entrepreneur and a real entrepreneur. Right now, at this moment of writing this blog, I am making a decision to stand up for something, to stand for Y.A.S. Young And Successful and to being the future of the entrepreneur world as one of the true youngest entrepreneurs in the business world. I am Jesse Redd Mr. Entrepreneur, President of Y.A.S. Young And Successful.
I am going to use myself as an example, talking from real young entrepreneurship experience (which obviously most “wanna be gurus” and other “so called” leaders and speakers in the industry don’t do.)
It’s amazing how I am going to write this block due to real experiences that have happened in the past few days of being full time building Y.A.S. here in Chicago, IL.
I started my first business at 15 years old. It was an I.T.-Managed Services company based out of Central California. It was Professional Computer Services to Small-Medium sized businesses. So I am not your typical young entrepreneur. I started opposite of most entrepreneurs. I started from the top and complex sides of business. I started working with businesses in the technology and computer services industry, rather than residential customers. Although, I have been in doing computer repair since I was 7 years old. I was taught to be ahead of others by years thanks to 11 years of British Private Education.
I worked hard for 2 continues years to build my computer services business, even went on to opening a brick and mortar store and office. The most difficult part was to build a reputation in the technology industry due to my young age, and I have to admit not even because of my ethnicity, just because of my age. You know, most bosses don’t like a person half their age telling them what to do or how to improve their business.
But…going back back to the point. Becoming an entrepreneur at a very young age is the best thing that ever happened to me. It built myself as a professional, it built my confidence and understanding and points of view towards the business world.
But even as a young entrepreneur, I learned many things on natural trial and error. From basics on accounting to management, from starting an office/store from scratch to building a team, from setting up a system to marketing, from business taxes to budgeting and business banking. The biggest and most important aspect of young entrepreneurship I recognized was the important of having a business mentor and coach. That is when I met Joe Cross The Comeback Coach and the OYM team. I know there are multiple “coaches” and “speakers” out there. The reason why I decided to work with Joe Cross is simply because he is different. He is a true leader who tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. But who also cares about what you want to accomplish. Me personally, I want to coach and train young entrepreneurs, I want to run the biggest and most elite organization of young entrepreneurs. I want to be taking serious in the business world, regardless of my age. And since I met Joe Cross I can finally turn my age and track record into advantages and make change and a true movement for young entrepreneurs.
I am proud to say that I started my first official LLC Professional Computer Services Company at 15 years old, then opened and ran a brick and mortar store/office. And also was successful in the network marketing industry, build teams of over 150 people in less than 3 months. I have done websites, SEO, affiliate and internet marketing and multiple other sides of business. I have probably read more business books than most individuals, attended and listened to more trainings than the average individual. And now I am finally part of a true entrepreneurship and business team which is OYM International and have coaching and mentorship from Joe Cross. And best of all leader and trainer of Y.A.S. Young And Successful. And I am 1%ER!
